Nothing beats listening to music on vinyl.

The pops and hisses, the beautiful album artwork –there’s something nostalgic about records. With a newfound love and respect for vinyl, people are growing their collections again. But finding a place to store them can be a real challenge – especially in smaller homes.

We’ve rounded up three of the best vinyl record storage ideas that fit every style preference, budget and home size.

1.     Crosley ST75-PA

Sure, you’d love to display your collection out in the open, neatly organized on a shabby-chic bookshelf. But you have kids. Or your guests have kids. Maybe you just prefer a storage solution that blends in perfectly with the rest of your home’s décor. The Crosley ST75-PA may just be the perfect solution for you.

A handcrafted entertainment cabinet made of hardwood and veneer, the ST75-PA allows you to store your collection neatly and safely away. And the decorative glass door still lets you put your records on display.

The ST75-PA is a great option for anyone looking to store both records and a CD collection. The interior cabinet features two shelves: a taller lower shelf for vinyl records, and a shorter top shelf for CDs or similar-sized media.

Smaller in size (19.75”L x 16”W x 25.25”H), this is a smart storage solution if you have a smaller collection of records.

Available in Paprika, Oak, Cherry and Black finishes, this entertainment cabinet pairs perfectly with any Crosley vintage music system.

Light assembly is required, but the entire process is simple and easy. And because the cabinet is lightweight, it’s easy to move into a corner or back wall in a room.

Priced at under $90, this is a great storage option for anyone with a modest budget.

Features and Specs

  • Weight: 32lbs.
  • Dimensions: 19.75”L x 16”W x 25.25”H
  • Paprika, Oak, Cherry and Black finishes
  • Silver plated hardware
  • Polished brass accents
  • Decorative glass door
  • Handcrafted hardwood and veneer

We love the ST75-PA because of its vintage look, and if you own any of the Crosley vintage music players, this entertainment cabinet pairs perfectly with them. Its compact size makes it great for smaller rooms, and the additional top shelf gives you space to store CDs, cassettes and accessories.

Some assembly is required, but once it’s put together, you’ll be proud to display the ST75-PA in your home.

2.     Odyssey CLP200P

Odyssey CLP200PLooking for a solution that’s a bit more discreet and easy to store away? The Odyssey CLP200P is a great option.

Featuring a black carpet exterior lining and a detachable lid, this storage case will keep your records safely stored away until your next listening session.

The CLP200P is one of the best options if you have a large record collection. It can hold up to 200 LP records. And the carpeted lining offers superior protection. You invested a lot in your record collection, and you want to keep it safe and protected. The carpeted lining will act as that safeguard.

The case itself is divided into two sections, which hold about 100 LP albums each. You will run into issues if the record is slightly wider or taller than the standard LP size, so keep that in mind. The case is highly durable, but there’s not much room for flexibility when it comes to record sizes.

The corners are reinforced with flat steel, and the soft-grip handles are recessed for easy carrying. The detachable lid allows for added protection while also making it easy to add or remove records as you please.

Features and Specs

  • Weight: 32lbs.
  • Dimensions: 14.5” x 28” x 14”
  • Detachable lid
  • Soft-grip, recessed handles
  • Draw bolt latch with lock
  • Flat, steel corners for added durability
  • Black carpet exterior lining
  • Holds 200 LP albums

The CLP200P is slightly more expensive than the previous model on our list, but if you have a large vinyl collection and need serious protection, this case is well worth the extra cost. There’s a lot to love with this model, and the soft interior will keep your records in great condition for as long as you store them.

3.     Sefour VC030

Sefour VC030The Sefour VC030 is a great storage option for anyone with a modest vinyl collection and a tighter budget. Durable, easy to assemble and simple in design, this record box will fit into any home’s décor.

The VC030 can hold about 60 records, so it works well for people who are just getting started or only have a small vinyl collection.

The box itself is surprisingly durable despite its simple design and construction. There’s an included chrome carry handle that runs across the top section of the box. This makes it easy to pick up and transport your collection. The boxes are stackable, too, so you can purchase more boxes as your collection grows.

While durable, affordable and compact in design, the VC030 doesn’t provide the same protection that the CLP200P offers. But it’s a great option if you aren’t a serious collector or will be storing your records in a safe environment.

Like our first model, the VC030 does require some assembly. We did want to mention that the instructions are lacking a bit. The good news is that it takes no more than 20 minutes to put this unit together – even with poor directions. You’ll be up and running, ready to listen to your records in no time.

Features and Specs

  • Weight: 19.8 pounds
  • Dimensions: 13.5″ W x 13.5 ” D x 16″ H
  • Holds 60 records
  • Chrome carry handle
  • Studio laminate finish
  • Stackable box

We love that you can stack the VC030, so if your vinyl collection grows, you can purchase the same box for a uniform look. The boxes are durable, and they look great in any home. Assembly instructions are lacking, but if you have experience assembling furniture items, you should have no issues putting the VC030 together. It’s a simple and straightforward design.

If you’re on a tighter budget and your record collection is smaller, we highly recommend the VC030.

Bonus Storage Idea: Crosley Record Storage Crate (AC1004A-NA)

Vinyl Record Storage

Crosley Record Storage Crate (AC1004A-NA)

As far as design goes, the Crosley record storage crate is one of our favorites. We couldn’t possibly put out this list without at least giving it a mention. It may not be ideal in terms of protection, but will look great in any home.

The AC1004A-NA can hold up to 75 albums, which makes it a great fit for anyone with a growing collection. And a pair of integrated carrying handles makes it easy to move your collection to any room of the house.

Constructed with finished solid wood, the AC1004A-NA offers a retro look and gives you plenty of space to store your records upright – just as they’re supposed to be.

The only complaint we have is that this unit is often out of stock, so it can be hard to get your hands on one. Some reviewers did complain that the price was too high, claiming that you could get the same crate in a craft store for 1/3 the price. However, it’s important to keep in mind that this crate was designed specifically for the storage of vinyl records. It’s far more sturdy and durable than any crate you’ll find in a craft store.

Features and Specs

  • Weight: 5.9 pounds
  • Dimensions: 19” x 13” x 6”
  • Solid wood finish
  • Holds up to 75 records
  • Vintage design

Durable, lightweight and beautifully designed, the AC1004A-NA is a retro-style storage solution that you’ll proudly display in your home. If you see this model in stock, don’t hesitate to buy – supplies don’t last.
